Last month I made my annual trek to Las Vegas for the WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) convention – from what I hear, over 14,000 photographers attended. So if you were in Vegas at the same time and you had trouble getting a signal on your iPhone: sorry, it’s our fault. Pretty much all of us have them and we practically shut down the network when all get together! So what do you do with an iPhone when you can’t get a decent signal? You take pictures of course. 😉 (All the images in this post were shot with the phone using the Instagram app – no Photoshop involved!)For the most part, the convention is about taking classes, seeing the latest and greatest products, and catching up with your photography friends from around the world, but another big part is the Awards of Excellence 16×20 Print Competition. This year there were 2171 entries in 18 categories…and I took home third place overall in the Portrait Division: Glamour/Boudoir category with my print, “Clean Cut” (yes, this is the same image I didn’t show you the last time it won an award – you’ll just have to trust me that it’s too hot to post!). Another one of my images, “Drenched”, received an Accolade of Excellence in the Portrait Division: Individual category. Thanks WPPI for the new chunk of crystal. 😉
