If you’re a foodie, you may know of The Local Palate, a magazine dedicated to Southern food and the stories behind it. They planned to publish a story about Missy Mercer (who is responsible for Montgomery favorites Tomatinos and Cafe Louisa), and asked me to take some photos of her to accompany the story.
We started shooting in Tomatinos, under a wall of colorful artwork that I thought was interesting. Unbeknownst to me, Missy’s mom was the artist! I love how things work out just the way they should sometimes! As we chatted, I learned that Missy is a very busy lady with young kids – so busy that we had to pause for a minute when the timer in her pockets went off so she could check on some bread. :p I’m in awe of how much she has accomplished (and if you haven’t tried it, you should go to Tomatinos and get some of her tasty pizza)!
