Engagement: Amy & Josh – Montgomery, Alabama

When your friend tries to fix you up with someone, you never know what you’re gonna get. When Amy’s best friend married Josh’s brother, both Amy and Josh were in the wedding party. Of course Amy’s best friend had always thought they’d be a perfect match, so she made sure to pair them together for the walk down the aisle. Little did they know, it wouldn’t be their last trip down the aisle together! So based on that story, you’d think they were together from that point on until they got engaged, right? Well, kind of. They did start dating after that wedding, and dated for 3 years. Then they broke up (WHAT??????). FIVE YEARS went by(!!!!!!). And somehow, they both managed to figure out the one thing that had been missing from their lives for those five years was each other. Turns out, sometimes your BFF really does know best. 😉 downtown montgomery engagement picturesmontgomery engagement sessionsmontgomery alabama engagement picturesblack and white montgomery engagement picturescreative montgomery engagement picturesred dress engagement pictures

Portrait: Robert, Elizabeth, & Abby – Montgomery, Alabama

I’ve photographed this family many times over the years, from their grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary to lifestyle portraits of the kids on their farm.  The last time I shot these three siblings, I think Robert was getting ready to head off to St. Louis for college.  This time around, he was getting ready to graduate, and Elizabeth was the one heading off to school in Boston.  Man, I feel old. 🙂portrait of a girl with curly hairsibling portraits at wynlakes in montgomery alabamablack and white portrait at wynlakessenior portrait at wynlakes in montgomerybrother and sister portrait in montgomery alabama

Engagement: Stephanie & Craig – Blount Cultural Park – Montgomery, Alabama

A lot of people choose Blount Cultural Park (aka Shakespeare) for pictures because of the expansive, lush, rolling green grounds. For this duo, it wasn’t just a pretty place – it was also the place where Craig first told Stephanie that he wanted to marry her. 🙂yellow flowers in a montgomery alabama engagement pictureblack and white engagement picture in montgomery alabama

So what do you do if it’s an unusually cold, windy day? You get out the quilt made by your grandmother, snuggle up in it, and try not to get pecked by the eternally hungry ducks at the park:engagement session at blount cultural parka duck at a montgomery alabama engagement sessionwindy engagement session in montgomery alabamablount cultural park engagement sessionmontgomery alabama engagement session

Wedding: Evonda & Andre – Alley Station – Montgomery, Alabama

If you remember Evonda & Andre’s engagement session, then you might remember me mentioning they were already married, even before we took their “engagement” pictures. Well, when you’re already hitched and having a reception for your family and friends after the fact, you might as well buck tradition altogether. Who needs bridesmaids and groomsmen? Want to wear two different dresses? Get one with a hi low hem and one in a more traditional style. And while you’re at it, why not get ready together at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel?bride and groom getting ready together at the renaissance hotelbride and groom silhouette at the renaissance montgomerybride and groom portrait before their montgomery alabama weddingdramatic bride and groom portraits at the renaissance hotelgraffiti wedding pictures in montgomery alabamabride and groom on alley station rooftop terracebride and groom portrait on the roof of the alley station in montgomery alabamabridal portrait at alley station in montgomerya bride and groom at their alley station rooftop wedding
