Bridal Portrait: Brittany – Blount Cultural Park – Montgomery, Alabama

You gotta love a bride that personalizes things – she had the bodice of her Angelina Faccenda gown reconstructed by Jay Herring of Mystick Couturier. On top of that, she wore a family heirloom veil that had previously gone down the aisle on her mom, aunt, and cousin. It was so long that I had to gather it up in a few pictures like a big puff of cotton candy. 🙂a montgomery alabama bridal portrait at the shakespeare festivala montgomery alabama bridal portrait at the shakespeare festivala montgomery alabama bridal portrait at the shakespeare festivala montgomery alabama bridal portrait at the shakespeare festival

Snapshots: Ironman Florida 2011 – Panama City Beach, Florida

Not too long ago, I hit the beach to check out Ironman Florida 2011 – got up early to watch the swim start, and later volunteered near the finish line in the athletes’ food tent, where we were going through 50+ pizzas every 30 minutes! Here’s a little peek from my trusty iPhone:panama city beach ironman florida 2011 photographerironman florida 2011 panama city beach photographerironman florida 2011 panama city beach photographer

Wedding: Kaitlyn & Chris – St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church – Birmingham, Alabama

If I had to choose one word to describe Kaitlyn and Chris’ wedding at St. Mark the Evangelist, it would be “classic”.A birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic churcha birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic churcha birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic church
The flowers (by Andy Hopper of KG Designs) went perfectly with Kaitlyn’s Allure Bridals gown (from Renaissance Consignment Boutique):a birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic churcha birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic churcha birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic church
Kaitlyn didn’t want her bridesmaids to spend any more than necessary, so she chose the super cute gunmetal grey dresses straight off the rack at Express…on sale for $40!!! Even the shoes were a great buy from Rack Room Shoes for $17. Love it when brides think outside the box!a birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic churcha birmingham alabama wedding at st mark the evangelist catholic church
The getaway car (from Vintage Auto) was a 1949 Bentley – special thanks to their videographer Claus Martel, who purposely placed himself where his video light worked best for me, and got the footage he needed at the same time. Engagement: Shaquan & Michael – Montgomery, Alabama

Since they booked me online, I didn’t get a chance to meet Shaquan and Michael before they came down from Birmingham for their engagement session. When I saw they had color coordinated his Chuck Taylors to her espadrille wedges, I knew we would get along just fine. 😉an engagement session in downtown montgomery alabamaan engagement session in downtown montgomery alabamaan engagement session in downtown montgomery alabamaan engagement session in downtown montgomery alabamaan engagement session in downtown montgomery alabamaan engagement session in downtown montgomery alabama

Engagement: Courtney & Greg – Auburn, Alabama

Sometimes the weather doesn’t play nicely with me – so when there was a chance of rain the week of Courtney & Greg’s engagement session, I was a little worried. Courtney was coming in from North Carolina, so rescheduling wasn’t really an option. Lucky for us, the sun was out (almost a little too much – it was HOT!), so all was well until…an engagement session at Auburn University in alabamaan engagement session at auburn university in alabama
…the skies decided to turn dark unusually early. So what’s a photographer to do? In the words of Tim Gunn, “Make it work!” So I used the LED flashlight on my keychain as a focusing light, the headlights on my SUV, and a trusting couple that put it in my hands to make something really cool happen. 🙂 an engagement session at auburn university in alabamaan engagement session at auburn university in alabamaan engagement session at auburn university in alabamaan engagement session at auburn university in alabama
