Tom

When I shoot the same kids several years in a row, I’m usually a little surprised to see how much older they look each time I see them. This was my third year shooting Tom, and I was shocked at how TALL he was getting. I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised, because his mom is tall (she sat in for a few shots as well!), but in my head I still see a baby-faced little boy with a smirky smile!

Look for me in RSVP!

RSVP Montgomery is an awesome magazine for those of you who like to be “in the know” when it comes to what’s happening in Montgomery – and I was totally flattered to be included in “The List” of up and coming young professionals in the Fall issue! Several of you have mentioned that you saw it, but if you haven’t, you can check it out online here (until they post the next issue!).

Keep an eye out for my photography work in some of the ads and articles – you’ll see pictures from me for Maya’s Belly Dancing, Metro Fitness, Girlfriendz, and Taste of the River Region!

The Speed Family

Butch gave Tonya a portrait session as a gift, and they made the most of it! There’s nothing better than subjects who are up for anything, including being silly – we were joking that all the plants looked a bit like a jungle, and how it would be funny for them to come out of it like wild animals. Well, the joke turned into an actual shot, and everyone gave me their best tiger impression!

Wedding: Deanna & Eric – Prattville, Alabama

I was so happy when Deanna told me she wanted to go downtown to do all the “formal” wedding pictures! It was a beautiful day out, so after she finished getting ready at the Renaissance, we headed to Heritage Baptist to round up the guys, and then went down to Dexter Avenue. We finished ALL the formal pictures, including family shots in plenty of time before the ceremony, so all they had to do from that point on was just relax and enjoy the day. Decorated in khaki and brown, with splashes of fall oranges and yellows, the wedding was rich and warm; from the church ceremony to the RSA Plaza reception. Thanks Deanna & Eric for letting me be part of your day!

Go see Meegan at Shakespeare!

One of my clients, Meegan Midkiff, is a New York based actress with Montgomery roots! I know her mom (hi Cheryl!) is thrilled to have her back home while Meegan is appearing in A Christmas Carol: The Musical at The Alabama Shakespeare Festival. The show is running from now until Christmas Eve, and you can look for Meegan playing Emily, as well as other parts in the ensemble cast (see her bio here). So gather up your family, and support ASF by going to see the show – it’s a great thing to do if you have family visiting from out of town for the holidays (I took my mom to see Menopause: The Musical last year. She dug it.). ASF is the sixth largest Shakespeare festival in the world, and we are so lucky to have it here in Montgomery!

You can also check out Meegan’s professional website at www.meeganmidkiff.com!
