Gwen & Danny’s Engagement

If you’ve read some of my previous posts about engagement sessions, then you know I ask my soon-to-be brides and grooms about places they like to go and things they like to do together so I can incorporate them into their session to make it more personal and fun. Two of the things Gwen and Danny mentioned were watching the sunset, and Friday night Mexican and margaritas – I thought they might think I was a little nuts to suggest shooting part of their session in a Mexican restaurant, but they were all for it. I have the best clients ever!

Gage is back!

And the puppy dog eyes are sweeter than ever! Lots of babies are curious about the camera – what would you think if you were a baby and a lady kept putting a huge black contraption in front of her face and it clicked at you? It was so funny because he would be all smiley until I put the camera in front of my face – then he would make the most serious face you’ve ever seen – but I think we got around that just fine!

More blogging soon!

I had to put blogging on the backburner as I was trying to catch up on things after the website mess – rest assured, I’m not dead! I know some of you check back often and have been waiting to see some new posts, but it was more important for me to catch up on emails, phone calls, orders, and editing – now I’m just about there, so I’ll be blogging a bunch of stuff in the next few days! Lots of babies, engagement sessions, and info on holiday sessions (here’s a hint: if you are interested in having a session done for the holidays, you REALLY want to book it soon!).

Wedding: Brandy & Ken – Capitol Heights United Methodist Church & Nobles – Montgomery, Alabama

Capitol Heights United Methodist Church was buzzing the hot August day of Brandy and Ken’s wedding. While most churches tend to be filled with dark wood, this sanctuary was surprisingly light and airy, and was the perfect backdrop for floral decor by Amy Townson of Distinctive Designs, who also coordinated the event. Jack from Temple Video and I worked together most of the day to capture as many details as possible, including the adorable initials on the front door. After a short and sweet ceremony, we made a special stop to take a few pictures with a fabulous 1955 Bel Air before moving on to Nobles for the intimate reception. Guests were greeted by a beautiful crystal wedding tree courtesy of Amy Townson, as well as cakes by Icing Illusions. Everyone danced the night away to tunes provided by The Music Guys. Unique donut favors were a “sweet” thank you to their guests as the newlyweds left in a shower of sparklers. Thanks Brandy and Ken for letting me be part of your day!

The Lowery Family

I’m willing to bet the Lowery family stays busy with their two boys and all the energy that comes with them! They did great and smiled in spite of it being a hot day. Check out the fabulous eyes and eyelashes on these little guys!
