I hadn’t been to Hawaii since I was 18 years old, so when I was hired to shoot not one, but TWO weddings in Hawaii this year, I couldn’t help but be excited about having a job that clearly doesn’t suck. 🙂 Two different islands, neither of which I had visited (I had only been to Oahu). The first wedding was on The Big Island, and it turned out to be one of my favorite destinations ever (and if you know me, you know I like to travel, so that’s saying a lot). Where else can you find beaches that go from white……to black……to gold? It’s also the home of the Ironman World Championships, so there were triathletes in training everywhere (you won’t hear me complaining about that view). While I was there, I ran 10 miles of the marathon portion of the course……and took a stand-up paddleboard out to the buoy marking the turn on the swim course:You can hop on a boat to whale watch and swim with the friendly “honu” (green sea turtles)……or hold a lipstick urchin:I won’t say goodbye, because The Big Island and I definitely have another date sometime in the future. 🙂 Stay tuned for pictures from the fabulous Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort wedding!
