It’s hard not to love the emotions that come along with weddings: the love, the tears, the uninhibited dance floor craziness. But I admit there is also a superficial side of me that perks its ears up when the words “wedding shoes with glitter soles” are said. GLITTER SOLES, people. Thank you Nine West, for indulging the part of me that is distracted by all things sparkl…diamonds? Where???
Casey’s Maggie Sottero gown was a unique color – not white, not ivory, and not champagne; but a very light gold. It contrasted beautifully with the navy-centered anemones in her bouquet (which complemented the navy bridesmaids dresses in mixed styles too).
While his Texas native bride was getting ready down the hall, British groom James and his groomsmen enjoyed a game of pool in the Moore’s Mill Club locker room. Well, he enjoyed it until it was time for pictures and time for his first look at his wife-to-be, but judging by the look on his face, I don’t think he minded. The girl he said could “burst out laughing in the middle of an argument” wore the bracelet he gave her as a wedding gift.
The glass surrounded pavilion was the ceremony site (and later, the reception site). I was obsessed with these floating glass votive holders from Bloomwoods Flowers (who was responsible for all the fabulous floral design for the day).
After the ceremony, wedding planner superwoman Julie Bunkley of Invision Events worked her magic on a perfectly orchestrated room flip. What was once a candlelit aisle became a glowing reception, complete with rosette covered cake from Sweet Malisa’s. The finishing touch – a nod to the groom in the form of personalized tea bags and shortbread direct from England!
Casey & James: here’s to many years of making brownies together. Thank you for letting me be a part of your wild party!
