Wedding: Lindsey & Michael – First Baptist Church & Union Station Train Shed – Montgomery, Alabama

When you see Lindsey and Michael together, it’s immediately obvious that their connection runs deep. It’s not just an “I-love-you-with-all-of-my-heart” kind of thing. It’s more of an “I-love-you-with-all-of-my-heart-plus-every-other-part-of-my-being-that-I-can’t-even-quantify” kind of thing. It was also obvious that they both feel the importance of family – you’ll see what I mean about Michael later, but the first example could be found in Lindsey’s bouquet, which was adorned with her great grandmother’s handkerchief:Bar none, Lindsey has the best laugh on the planet. It’s never timid. It’s always as if containing her happiness is impossible and it all comes out at once. So what do you do if you’re a group of guys waiting around for a wedding to start? You play cards of course. Before they were set to see each other for the first time, Lindsey asked me to deliver a letter to her groom:A crowd started to gather for the big moment. And the result was……overwhelming.Remember what I said about the importance of family? Michael had his grandfather’s pocket watch safely tucked away, and in his cufflinks – pictures of his mother and grandfather.Love is grand, but I say a little smart spending never hurts in marriage either – can you believe Lindsey found her Priscilla of Boston gown at a sample sale for $100??? (That’s not a typo. 100 bucks!)Family is important, but so are your friends – don’t settle for the usual “stand there together and smile” picture. These are a lot more memorable. 🙂After a heartfelt ceremony at First Baptist Church, we headed to the Union Station Train Shed for the reception:What could be better than tower of cupcakes for a wedding cake (created by Icing Illusions)? How about a replica of Auburn’s Samford Hall for a groom’s cake (created by Doris Patterson)?Time to rock out to the sounds of The Deep V’s:I love this picture so much, I want to marry it. What makes it so special? That guy in the band – that’s Lindsey’s baby brother. 🙂Brides, be warned – if you change in a retro glam going-away dress, I’m going to swoon and attempt to steal you away for pictures with the vintage Bentley before you go.Lindsey and Michael, thank you for letting me take a peek into your story – I hope Jamaica was fantastic and I will always remember Michael’s little saying: spectacles, tes… well, you get the picture!
