The pandemic came along and changed everything. and it put me behind in my blogging. If we’re being really honest, I was already behind BEFORE the pandemic, so needless to say, a deluge of blog posts is on the way, starting with Rosemary & Dom’s Arrowhead Country Club wedding!
It was VERY cold that day, but it seemed appropriate for their winter wonderland themed wedding, planned by Mary Sanders of Mary Me. Woodsy touches were added by Melissa Kendall Floral Design, including pine cones and soft fuzzy greenery such as dusty miller. The French groom added his own touches, including fleur de lis cufflinks and some Pepé Le Pew (more on that in a minute).
Rosemary did things her own way too, wearing lace slip on sneakers by Antonio Melani under her David Tutera gown. The bridesmaids wore grey Converse, with the laces changed to something a little more fancy for the occasion. 🙂
Rosemary and Dom decided to do a first look before their ceremony, which made everyone feel all warm and fuzzy. That’s probably a good thing because right after that we went outside for pictures, where the ladies nearly froze their butts off!
The ceremony was somehow warm and wintery all at once. Snowflakes were projected onto the floor, and plenty of candles stood on the massive stone fireplace. When the ceremony ended, the site needed to be flipped to a reception setting, so guests moved to another part of the club for cocktail hour, where they enjoyed drinks and appetizers and eyeballed the cakes. Both cakes were topped with figurines featuring Looney Tunes characters Pepé Le Pew and Penelope, a nod to Dom’s French background.
When it was time for the first dance, they opted to do theirs on a “cloud” created by a fog machine. Guests danced the night away, then made their own wedding favors by choosing sweet treats from a candlelit candy table. At the end of the night, the newlyweds made their exit under a shower of confetti and sparklers, and hopped into a Bentley to live happily ever after!
