But FINALLY, I had a chance to do just that (those of you who have been waiting for pics can breathe easier now &#8211; yes, I&#8217;m talking to you Alison and Jennifer!).  This will be a multi-part post, since a single post couldn&#8217;t possibly do this trip justice. I thought a unique angle of the cathedral ceiling fit the bill. \ud83d\ude42<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer4.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"irelandphotographer4\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1990\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer4.jpg 900w, https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer4-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/>In my opinion, one of the best ways to get a feel for a city or country is through its food &#8211; and the best way to do that is at a local market.  We happened to find an open air market in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dublintourist.com\/towns\/temple_bar\/\">Temple Bar<\/a> area of Dublin, filled with fresh Irish cheeses, breads, pastries, and produce.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer5.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"irelandphotographer5\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1991\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer5.jpg 900w, https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer5-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/>Four words: organic banana, Nutella, crepe. Just for my Canadian friends: yes, there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timhortons.com\">Tim Horton&#8217;s<\/a> in Ireland!  According to my new Canadian friends (hi Mary and Michelle!), the concoction that came out of the automated machine tasted nothing like the real stuff, and it was promptly tossed in the trash.  And for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0110912\/\">Pulp Fiction<\/a> fans: there really is such a thing as a Royale with cheese.  A processed chicken patty, lettuce, cheese and way too much mayo on a roll.  You&#8217;re not missing much.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer8.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"irelandphotographer8\" width=\"900\" height=\"595\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1997\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer8.jpg 900w, https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer8-300x198.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.northantrim.com\/giantscauseway.htm\">The Giant&#8217;s Causeway<\/a>.  One of the highlights of the trip for me.  It looks like a bunch of rocks until you get a little closer&#8230;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer9.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"irelandphotographer9\" width=\"900\" height=\"563\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer9.jpg 900w, https:\/\/chanterellephotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/irelandphotographer9-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/>&#8230;and you notice that the rocks are actually thousands of hexagonal columns.  Blows my mind that this was a NATURAL occurrence, not manmade. The &#8220;gas and eggs&#8221; is one of my favorites.
