href=\"http:\/\/www.culinology.org\">Research Chefs Association<\/a>) combines culinary skill and science &#8211; &#8220;culinology&#8221; if you will.\u00a0 Food-centric events are some of my favorite events to shoot, and here&#8217;s a little known fact: I&#8217;m actually a science nerd with a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Pharmacology.\u00a0 Needless to say, the RCA Conference in Savannah href=\"http:\/\/www.savtcc.com\/\">Savannah Convention Center<\/a>.\u00a0 There were some speakers whose faces I recognized immediately, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bryanvoltaggio.com\/\">Bryan Voltaggio<\/a> (you might remember him and his twin brother Michael competing on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bravotv.com\/top-chef\">Top Chef<\/a>).\u00a0 Matthew Raiford of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmerandlarder.com\/\">The Farmer &amp; The Larder<\/a> (who you might know as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesbeard.org\/\">James Beard<\/a> award semi-finalist) was also in href=\"https:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/savwi-the-westin-savannah-harbor-golf-resort-and-spa\/\">Westin Savannah Harbor<\/a>.\u00a0 In a room decked out in purple lighting and cobwebs, there&#8217;s also a culinary competition with a student division and a professional division.\u00a0 The goal in both divisions is to create a meal that would be suitable for sale as a pre-packaged product sold in the freezer section of the grocery store, and of course, make it delicious.\u00a0 The meals were actually flash frozen during the competition, and the judges microwaved them on site
