Portrait: The Carpenter Family – Montgomery, Alabama

I probably shouldn’t call them as “The Carpenter Family” since marriage has added some new members to the family and changed some of their last names, but I can’t help myself – they’re still “The Carpenter Family” to me and the 3 daughters are forever “The Carpenter Girls”!  Since the “girls” are grown and live all over the country, it’s a rare occasion for them to all be in the same city at the same time.  So when Mama Carpenter knew that rare occasion was going to happen, she got in touch to schedule a fall family portrait session at their home.  I hadn’t photographed them in over 6 years, when I shot eldest daughter Emma’s wedding to Matt, so it was so much fun to catch up on all the changes in their lives.

Another girl was about to join the family (though she was still in Lauren’s belly at the time).  Emma has changed jobs (and her hair color!).  Two dog cousins (and their dog uncle) got a chance to play together.  And the entire family still has just as much fun and love between them as I remembered.
