Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital‘s Pet Pictures with Santa event is a great fundraiser where pet parents bring their pets to visit the guy in the red suit, in the hopes that “SantaPaws” will bring them something nice for Christmas. This year, we decided to switch things up a bit!
The goal was to simplify the set and make it more flexible in terms of the angles I could shoot from, while keeping the atmosphere as pet friendly as possible (because there are always a few pets who are very nervous about meeting Santa). So we came up with a scenario where Santa could read the fur kids a story if they had stage fright and didn’t want to get too close to him. Santa had a big squishy chair, and Ashton (who is the trainer at Taylor Crossing and was the pet wrangler for the day) put on some comfy Christmas PJs to snuggle with the pets as she got them situated for story time.
After 155 dogs and 3 cats came through, we collected $1457 in donations for For the Paws Rescue! Scroll down to see just a few of my favorite pics from the event, and you can check out ALL the photos from the day on Facebook (click HERE)!
If that wasn’t enough, you can take a peek at the photos from last year’s event HERE!
Photographers: want to create a similar set for your next Christmas shoot? Here are links to some of the items we used (click the photos below to go to the corresponding item’s page on Amazon)! Some of the items we ordered are no longer available, so I’ve linked some that are nearly identical. Please note: this post contains some referral and/or affiliate links. What this means is, if you click on one of the links and purchase the item shown, I may receive a small commission from the company selling that item. This happens at no additional cost to you – the price of the item is the same whether you order through one of my links or not.
